William Sawyer

October 16, 1935 — March 2, 2011

William "Rudy" Sawyer, age 75, of Paducah passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at his home.

He was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. He was a butcher for 55 years, and retired from Super Valu Foods. He was owner and operator of Rudy's Deer Processing.

Mr. Sawyer is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Peggy Bogard Sawyer; and two sons, Richard (Cindy) Sawyer of Paducah and U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant William Scott (Amy) Sawyer of Jacksonville, N.C.; and two daughters Marlena (Randy) Gore of Hickory, Ky., and Anita (Kevin) Hall of Paducah. He leaves behind nine grandchildren, Wesley and Lydia Sawyer of Paducah, Ellie Gore of Paducah, and Haley Gore of Hickory, Tosha (Chad) Seitz, Courtney Hall and Cody Greene of Paducah, and Austin and Felicity Sawyer of North Carolina. He is survived by 2 nephews and 1 niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Witt and Mary Hainline Sawyer.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Stan Reid officiating and burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
