MAYFIELD, Ky. - Sarah Virginia "Mother" Brittain Jones, 82, of Mayfield died at 9:25 p.m. Thursday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Mrs. Jones retired from PineLake Medical Center and was a member of New Home Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Ersel Jones; two sons, Darrell Jones and Michael B. Jones, both of Mayfield; one daughter, Elwanda Treas of Mayfield; one brother, Rayburn Fuller Brittain of Mayfield; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister. Her parents were Rayburn H. Brittain and Hallie Mae Fuller Brittain.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Byrn Funeral Home with the Revs. C.W. Jackson, Ronnie Stinson Sr. and William Strong officiating. Burial will be at Mayfield Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
