Ruby Shipwash

November 9, 1915 — December 10, 2015

Mrs. Ruby Lee Shipwash, age 100, of Mayfield passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at her residence.

She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church of Mayfield, the oldest charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Jackson Purchase Medical Center and a homemaker.

Mrs. Shipwash is survived by two sons, David (Joy) Shipwash of LaPort, TX and Jerry (Marsha) Shipwash of Mayfield, KY; two daughters, Pat (Doug) Jones of Mayfield, KY and Barbara (Jim) Wallace of Benton, KY; one sister, Rose (Jim) Grimmer of Birmingham, AL; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. L. Shipwash, Sr.; one son, W. L. "Bill" Shipwash, Jr.; one daughter, Emma McManus Jackson;four brothers, Rodger, Robert, Ray and Rex Jackson; one sister, Sue Hicks; her parents, Samuel and Emma Craig Jackson; and two grandchildren, Michael Shipwash and Andy Thompson.

Graveside services for Mrs. Ruby Lee Shipwash will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2015 at Mayfield Memory Gardens. Rev. Brad Morris will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Jason Shipwash, Corey Shipwash, Trey Shipwash, Ricky McManus, Matthew Shipwash, Jerry Washburn and Russ Morris.

Visitation will be 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Byrn Funeral Home of Mayfield, KY.
