Lula Strong

Lula Mae Strong, age 86, of Mayfield, KY died at 9:45 PM Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Green Acres Healthcare Facility in Mayfield. Lula was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Mayfield and had worked for the former Andover and Curlee Clothing Companies in Mayfield.

Survivors include her son - James (Cathy) Strong and daughter - Paula K. (Harold) Shelton both of Mayfield; 4 grandchildren - Lori Ann Jacob, Shawna Miranda Morris, Bryan Edward Byrd, & Sabrina Denise Ryan and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband - Charles Edward "Pete" Strong, son - Michael Ray Strong; parents - Ed & Elizabeth "Lizzie" Dowdy Sullivan; 2 brothers - Jewell & Terrell Sullivan and 3 sisters - Aline Redden, Pauline Lyles, & Lola Sanderson.

Funeral services for Lula will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield. Rev. Bryant Kerns will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mayfield Memory Gardens. Friends are invited to call at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield after 5:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2014.
