Josephine "Jo" Harper, 86, of Paducah, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 8:50 a.m. at New Haven Assisted Living. Jo was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Claussner Hosiery, Gore's Supermarket, and her last employment was at Lourdes hospital where she worked in the environmental service department. Jo was a native of Metropolis, Ill., where she grew up and attended public schools there. Jo was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include one daughter, Kim (Charles) Lindsey of Paducah; one son, Bobby (Paula) Harper of Paducah; one brother, Wayne (Betty) Rixie of Whitehouse, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Jordan Lindsey, Alexis Lindsey, Scott Harper, Shane Harper, and Stacy Harper; two great-grandchildren, Austin Harper and Brianna Harper; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Odell Harper; her parents, William Dugan and Lutie Slankard Rixie; one sister, Freda Bell; and two brothers, Andrew Rixie and Bill Rixie.

Services will be held Sunday, March 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred French officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, until service time. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
