James "Jim" Edward West, 88, of Paducah went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 12:28 p.m.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jamie Broome officiating.
Jim was born in Paducah to the late Fred George and Ada McCreary West. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. Following his service in the Army, Jim became a member of Local No. 250 Pipefitters in California. He was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and he was a Shriner in Masonic Lodge No. 127.
Jim is survived by three nieces, Sylvia Mitchell of Metropolis, Ill., Lynda Boudreaux of Paducah, Ky., and Suzanne Johnson of Calvert City, Ky.; one nephew, Bill West of Murray, Ky.; as well as several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Margaret Sue Hardesty West; four sisters; and three brothers.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Monday, January 18, 2010, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
