James Vinson

BENTON, Ky. - James Robert "Bob" Vinson, 79, of Benton died at 7:40 p.m. Saturday at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Vinson was a retired grounds superintendent of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lone Oak and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Lynn McCray of Southgate, Mich., Karen Elane Puckett of Almo and Karla Jean Vinson of Morganton, N.C.; one brother, Earl Walter Vinson or Sencea, Mo.; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Bridges Vinson; his stepmother, Sally Vinson; and two brothers. His parents were Aubrey Hoy and Flossie Hopper Vinson.
A private family graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lone Oak. Collier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
