James Thompson

June 22, 1938 — October 24, 2010

James B. "JB" Thompson, 72, of Lone Oak, formerly of Livingston County, died Sunday, October 24, 2010, at 10:53 a.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.

He was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a 1957 graduate of Livingston County High School. JB loved camping at the lake, U.K. Basketball and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren and his dog "BoBo."

Services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Willis Henson and the Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family after 5 p.m. today, October 26, 2010, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Roberts Thompson; one daughter, Jill Raney (Jeff), and one son, Greg Thompson (Lisa), both of Lone Oak; one brother, Wil Thompson of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Katelin Thompson, Jessica Wilkinson (Shawn), Kisten Thompson, Alise Thompson, Andrea Thompson, Jaden Raney and Alex Raney; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Wilkinson and Jack Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death were his parents, Wilbur Eldon "Cotton" Thompson and Aline Quertermous Thompson; and two sisters, Peggy Lambert and Martha Hooks.
