Funeral services for James Edwin Smith, 86, of Paducah will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Paducah with the Revs. James Calhoun, Gregory Waldrop and Joey Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Smith passed away at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

Mr. Smith was retired from Martin-Marietta as a maintenance mechanic. He was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Paducah, where he was a member of the choir and a member of the United Methodist Men. He was Past Master of the Plain City Lodge No. 449 F&AM and served as the Secretary/Treasurer for many years. He was the Past District No. 1 Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife, Grace LaNell (Barron) Smith of Paducah; sons, Wallace Edwin (Eddie) Smith and wife Sue of Paducah and James Keith Smith and wife Carolyn of Paducah; sister, Emma Jane Bourgois and husband George of Paducah; grandchildren, Jenny, Leslie, Daniel and Allyson, all of Paducah; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Calvin and Beatrice Blanche (Goodman) Smith; sisters, Margaret Lucille Hotchkiss and Virginia Goodloe; brother, John W. Smith; and grandson, James Matthew.

Visitation for James Edwin Smith will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Masonic Rites will begin at 6 p.m.
