Henry Compton

KEVIL - Henry Etta Compton, 80, of Kevil, Ky., passed away at 3:28 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011, at Western Baptist Hospital.

She was born in Hammond, Indiana. Henry Etta was a member of the Spring Bayou Baptist Church since 1960 where she was a member of the Adult Women's Sunday School Class. She was a member and Past President of the Women's Missionary Union of Spring Bayou Baptist Church. Henry Etta retired from Western Baptist Hospital as a Nurse's Aide with 17 years of service.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Driver and husband, Mike of Benton, Ky.; sons, Rev. Jimmy Compton and wife, Vickie of Kevil, Ky., Danny Compton and wife, Sherri of Kevil, Ky., Bobby Compton and wife, Mary Jo of Reidland, Ky.; sister, Margaret Kirkland and husband, Jerry of Coldwater, Ky.; brother, L.J. Hendon and wife, Renaye of Murray, Ky.; ten grandchildren, Holly Compton Adams, Renae C. Turner, Chad Compton, Brett Compton, Josh Compton, Jordyn Compton, Kelli Jo Compton, Andrew Harned, Brandon Driver, and Cassie Morrow; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Henry Etta was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Compton. Her parents were Henry Leamon Hendon and Myrtle Futrell Hendon.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Terry Tipton, the Rev. Jimmy Compton and the Rev. Steve Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
