Harlean French, age 79, of Granite City, IL, and a former resident of Mayfield, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side. Harlean was born on November 25, 1936 in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Eldon Conley and Grace Humphrey.
Harlean was a proud homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She attended Gracepoint Church in Granite City, IL. She was a member of the NRA and she was a firm believer in your Constitutional Rights. Harlean enjoyed making crafts and solving crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Harlean was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Eugene Lee French Sr.; infant son, Eugene Lee French Jr.; and by her daughter-in-law, Karla French.
She is survived by her loving children, David French Sr. of St. Louis, MO, Linda (Richard) Blunt of Granite City, IL, Stephen French of Paducah, KY and Greg (Deanna) French of Hickory, KY; two dear brothers, Edward (Shirley) Conley of Waynesville, MO and Don (Fran) Conley of Mayfield, KY; proud grandmother to Justin Blunt, Renata (Mike) Slotta, Selena (Mike) Forrest, David Lee (Sharonda Calmese) French Jr., Alexsander French, Dillon French and Erin French; proud great-grandmother to Hunter Slotta, Liam Slotta, Anaston Slotta, Slade Blunt, Karter Lee French and Mason Forrest; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Gracepoint Church, Granite City, IL.
In celebration of her life, funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Sister Cindy Oliver and Pastor T.L. Smith officiating.
A second visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Brown Funeral, Mayfield, KY.
Graveside services will be in Mayfield Memory Gardens, Mayfield, KY, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. The Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield is in charge of arrangements
