Elvin Cooper

Services for Elvin Lonnie Cooper Sr., 87, of Paducah will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Revs. F. Wayne Carter and Terry Sills officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr.Cooper died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at Lourdes hospital.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II he was a member of Central City Baptist Church and owner/operator of Cooper Pluming and Heating. Mr. Cooper was a member of Veterans of foreign Wars and American Legion. He was past president of the Plumers and Steamfitters Union, served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and had been area superintendent for the Union Carbide AEC Plant.
Serviving are his wife of 31 years, Neoma Tharp Cooper; and three sons, George Earl Cooper of North Fort Myers, Fla. Elvin Lonnie Cooper Jr. of Palmdale, Calif. and Robert Winston Cooper of Bend, Ore.; four sisters, Margaret Cooper Midkiff of Owensboror, Immogene Cooper Plemmons of Whiting, Ind., Martha Cooper Ryan of Hobart, Ind., and Nelda Pitt of Henderson; one brother, Wanga June Cooper of Gary, Ind.; two stepbrothers, Robert Scott of Owensboro and Gene Scott of Calhoun; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
