LOUISVILLE - David T. Whitfield, age 85, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Paducah, Ky., passed away Monday, January 17, 2011, in Louisville.
Funeral services for David will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Waldrop officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
David was born June 27, 1925, to Volney E. and Nettie Hunter Whitfield. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired as the owner of Paducah Beer Distributors and was a member of Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church.
David is survived by his son, David W. Whitfield and wife, Patty, of Louisville; two grandchildren, Angela Morris and husband, T.H., of Louisville and Brian Whitfield and wife, Crystal, of Boca Raton, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, Ally and Savannah Morris, and Bryce and Nolan Whitfield.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Marguerite Ratcliff Whitfield in 2003.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2011, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home.
