Mr. Billy Melton Travis, age 83 of Mayfield, Ky passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:50 AM at his residence.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Mayfield, he was retired from the Fulton Daily Leader Newspaper, he also at one time served as a Mayfield Police Officer; Mr. Travis was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Era.
Mr. Travis is survived by his wife- Julia Faye Schultz Travis of Mayfield, Ky; daughter- Pamela Ann (Dale) Thomas of Paducah, Ky; sister- June Caroline (John) Crisp of Lancaster, Pa; two grandchildren- Kacie D. (Ryan) Harvey of Pewee Valley, Ky and Kristofer L. Thomas of Pewee Valley, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents- Ernest K. & Relma Melton Travis.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, Ky with Dr. Bruce Dobyns officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow in the Mayfield Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, Ky.
