Belt
Vernon Belt, 70, of Paducah died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.

Mr. Belt retired from USEC as a senior fire protection engineer, and he graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor's degree in fire science. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an airplane mechanic. He was of the Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Kay Belt; one son, Teddy Ray Belt; two daughters, Debbie Powley and Brandy K. Belt, all of Paducah; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Tom and Marie Cornwell Belt.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Steve Walker officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
