Amanda Mullen

December 26, 1925 — December 31, 2012

Amanda Louise Peal Solomon Mullen of Paducah, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2012. She passed away at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

She was born on 12-26-1925 in Golden Pond, Kentucky, to Mamie Ray Puckett Peal and Oscar Turner Peal.

Mrs. Mullen was a member of Salt and Light Church of God in Paducah.

Mrs. Mullen loved her family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing and designing her children's clothing, wedding dresses, etc. She was a hard worker all of her life, canning food for her family, cooking large meals, and opening her home to others.

Surviving are two sons, Paul (Debbie) Solomon of Paducah and Allen (Shari) Mullen of Paducah; three daughters, Wilma (Jerry) Heflin of Woodhaven, Mich., Jan M. Solomon of Paducah, and Barbara Kaler of Symsonia; one sister, Hattie Mae Flood of Cadiz; nine grandchildren, Tonya, Jerry (Jennifer) Heflin, Jason Heflin, Jennifer (Deirdre) Wyatt, Marcey Simmons, Melissa (Antonio) Bobbitt, Matthew (Denise) Solomon, Michael Solomon, and Cassidy (Mary) Jamison; great-grandchildren Jackson Heflin, Mikayla and Taylor Simmons, Mia and Malana Bobbitt, Emily and CJ Jamison, Ryan Jones, and Sarah Rush; and great-great-grandchildren Kirsten and Kamdin Jones; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Solomon; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hershel Solomon; second husband, Charles Edwin Mullen; her father, Oscar Turner Peal; her mother, Mamie Ray Puckett; one son, David West Solomon; one sister, Ruby Peal; and one brother, Oscar Peal.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Chapel with Bro. Jim Glover officiating.

Roth Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
