Albert Robison

January 8, 1925 — May 13, 2013

SMYRNA, Tenn. - Rev. Albert E. Robison Jr., 88, of Smyrna, Tennessee, formerly of Paducah, Ky., passed away at 2:12 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Arbors of Azalea Court in Smyrna, Tenn.

He was born in Metropolis, Ill. He was a retired Baptist minister.

Rev. Robison started his ministry in 1948 and was the pastor of several churches including Karnes Grove Baptist Church, East Baptist Church, Stanley Baptist Church and Old Salem Baptist Church. He was a member of the Reidland Baptist Church where he had served as interim pastor in 1990. He lived in Owensboro, Ky., for over 30 years when he moved to Paducah in 1990. He served as a Supervisor for the Water Treatment Plant for Owensboro while he lived in Owensboro, Ky.

Rev. Robison loved to travel the United States and abroad. He collected antique tools and had an extensive collection and enjoyed woodworking. He created a bird sanctuary in his backyard where he fed and cared for all the different types of birds and loved his two dogs. Rev. Robison was a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his daughters, Joyce Young of Paducah, Ky., and Lisa Baali and husband Ahmed of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice L. Griffith Robison; and two brothers, James Charles Robison and Leroy A. Robison. His parents were Albert Henry Robison, Sr., and Gertrude Rose Barton Robison.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Arbors of Azalea Court for their exceptional care and love that they gave to Rev. Robison and the family
